The fields were dry enough today for our team to have their first T-Ball practice! Daniel loved it! (Well most of it.) He loved playing catch, running the bases, and trying the bat. He was manning 2nd base toward the end of practice and there was a cold wind pushing through the fields making us all shiver. Daniel wanted to be done at this point. He stayed put though (even as he started to cry) till about 15 minutes before the end of practice. He'd start to cry and then suck in his lip and wipe his tears. Then, at the very end, he got all excited again when they all put a hand in and did a "Rays" cheer :-). Next time I'll put him in an extra layer to help he stay a bit warmer (and bring a blanket for myself).
Coach Sam telling the kids what's up.
Running! He had a few of us laughing because each time he got to run, he was giggling with glee. He really had a good time through most of practice today.
It took him a few times to figure out that they were running to just one base at a time. Here he is going back to 2nd base and Janelle (one of the moms who is also helping as an assistant coach.)Playing a catch game
Batting practice with the helmet...

Batting Practice Video: He kept swinging after the ball landed :-).
